Finding the park might be difficult at first. Best first time is to turn right on the Egmonderstraatweg between two houses (see picture).

The ‘green route’ (see picture) is more easy once you have arrived

Parking

• You can unload your luggage in front of our house. On de parking place turn right on the park road around the mill
• The car have to be parked on the parking lot
• There should be room for two cars always.
• You can charge your car as well (when finished, move the car)

Arrival

With the code that has been sent to you, you can enter the house (front door). The key is on the table. You can use the code from 15:45. The code will not work before this time unless we have told you otherwise!

The frequently asked question… can we enter earlier?

• Unfortunately, the answer is no. The cleaners have to clean several houses starting at 10:00…
• When we visit ourselves, we also just go to the beach instead of waiting on a boring parking lot!
• In the low season it is sometimes possible (November to March). We will let you know if that’s the case.
• Exception: If you are coming with a baby/small child who needs to sleep, I’ll do my best to ask the cleaners if our house can be done earlier. Sometimes it works… they may be ready around 14:00, but no guarantees… I can’t and do not want to ask them every time, hence the exception…

Door / electric lock

The door can be opent with a key or code. The code we will email you.

To open the door with the keypad. Select the numbers, slowly. Door will open itself. No need to select the arrow. (that is closing the door)

You can close the door inside by turning the knob.

Bedsheets

• The beds are made
• There are 2 towels per person (big and small)
• We advice to bring extra for the Sauna
• Kitchen set

Sauna

Sauna is warm in about 15-20 minutes

How to turn it on:

• Turn above knob to the right. See orange section in the the picture. For example 2 means it will burn two hours. The red light will turn on near the knob
• You can also use the timer. See green section in the picture. For example 3 means it will start heating in 3 hours.

How to turn it off:

To turn it off, turn left and the red light near the knob will go off

Fireplace

How to use it

• Always place dry wood inside. The heating suplier noticed current new fireplaces will smoke a lot when using not dry wood.
• When placed wood inside: Best method apperently is place two logs inside and than smaller parts like ‘Jenga tower’ on top, so it burns down
• Put the lever to the right (+) and always close the door.
• Never keep the door open! Smoke will come into the house
• Turn off the kitchen hood (it will get smoke into the house)
• After half an hour place the lever in the middle.
• Place new wood when there is almost no flames anymore
• Empty after use
• Firelogs: we buy these (see picture) at the Albert Heijn. You can also buy wood at the gasstation near the Albert Heijn or the ‘Bouwmark Egmond‘. I also learned that this wood not always ‘really dry’…
• Above 10 degrees outside?, it would fire up

Heating

• So as of november 2024 we have a heatpomp and boiler. The tempature is automatic, you cannot change it. It will start heating 5.00 in the morning (takes 2 hours) The heatpomp works best if the tempature keeps the same level. (around 20.5 degree)
• On average, our guest are ok with 20.5 degree. If it need something else, let us know!

• We have a large 300-liter boiler, which means it can run out of hot water if all 6 guests shower one after the other for extended periods. Please be mindful of water usage to ensure that there is enough hot water for everyone.

• When really cold outside, you can use the curtain on the first floor. (also helps a bit for the noice)

Our Bicycles and renting

We have 2 bicycles available free to use. You happy that you use them, but please note, they are not insured, so its for your own risk.

• Always lock them on a tree / pole (2x)
• If anything is broken or need to be fixed, email us.
• If they get stolen outside Duinpark, you need to pay 200 EUR each.

Charging e-bike

Charge your e-bike outside on the terras, it is not possible in the storage room

Instructions to add and remove the child seat. Child seat is in de ‘berging’ / locker room. If you add it, always remove when leave and place it in the wall again. Tnx!

Handcart

You can use the handcart for shopping or goto the beach.  Please fold it back in when you used it.

BBQ

Sorry we don’t have an BBQ currently anymore. Too much issues with people placing it against the house. We look for an alternative

Curtains

In the bedrooms, don’t pull! only use the katrol. (see picture)

Washing machine & Dryer

In the storage room we have a washmachine, dryer and iron.

Children bed / Stair Gate

We have 1 or 2 extra beds for the little people (let us know by email). Bring your own bedlinnen for these beds.

Koffie / Caffee

We have 1 Filter Machine and 1 Nespresso machine

Games

We some games free to use!

Digital stuff / TV

• Netflix/ Streaming. In the television on HDMI2 we have Chromecast so you can steam Netflix to the television More info how to stream

• The TV can be pulled slightly away from the wall. When returning it to its position, please align it to the left to prevent the door from hitting it.
